Which type of worktop is right for me?

Corian is a low maintenance yet stylish option for your kitchen; they are durable, non-porous and hygienic, ideal for families with busy lifestyles, especially those with children.

Granite worktops are for someone who want a unique and beautiful piece of nature in their home. Granite does require slightly more maintenance to ensure its beauty is preserved and therefore, best in the hands of those who will give it the proper care and attention it deserves.  As a 100% natural material a granite surface remains cold, perfect for armature bakers.

Quartz surfaces offer the beauty of natural marbles and granites with the consistency and performance of engineered stone. Ideal for the style conscious, quartz comes in a range of styles and colours. Quartz is also easily maintained in comparison to 100% natural stone products.

Can I order a sample of my chosen worktop material?

You cannot order samples direct from J. Rotherham. Please speak with your kitchen designer for more details.

How do I know when my kitchen is ready for the template appointment?

Once you have notification of the expected delivery & installation of your kitchen cabinets and appliances, please contact us to arrange an exact template date.

Read our template and installation guidelines and ensure your newly installed kitchen is ready for the worktop survey. If your kitchen is not ready for the laser template measurment, your appointment will be aborted, and you may incur additional appointment costs.

Can I change my order or make any additions after I’ve placed my order?

Once you have placed your order, you cannot change details such as your material choice, edge profile etc. However, during your template appointment you can add certain items to your order. These items are:

  • Window cills
  • Up-stands
  • Splash-back
  • Sink grooves
  • Sink recesses
  • Sink cut-out
  • Hob cut-out
  • Pop-up sockets
  • Radius corner
  • Smooth underside
  • Solid underside

Once your template is complete and you’ve signed for any additional items, you cannot make any further changes.

If changes need to be made to your order that do not appear on the above list, your appointment may be aborted and you might incur additional appointment costs.

How long will it take for my worktop to be installed after my template appointment?

We aim to achieve a 7-10 working day lead time.

How do I clean my worktop?

Follow our guidelines in order to keep the appearance of your worksurface in perfect condition and avoid any damaging effects:

What do I do if I find a defect with my new worktop?

In the unlikely event that your worktop has a defect, please refer to the warranty documentation given to you upon the installation of your worktops. If you feel the defect is the result of a quality failure on our part, please contact our customer service team to make your claim:

On reviewing your warranty claim, we will verify if a defect in the material has occurred, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the warranty. At our discretion, we will either repair or replace the section or sections of the defective product.

Scratches & chips:

Small chips or scratches may arise during the manufacture and installation of Gemini Quartz® worktops. If this occurs, please contact our customer service team referencing your J. Rotherham job number and provide photographs of the scratches/chips.

Joint failure:

Material joints are professionally bonded during installation and should last the length of the worktop’s lifetime. In the unlikely event that a joint in your worktop fails. please contact our customer service team referencing your J. Rotherham job number and provide photographs of the affected area.
