Did you know…
From start to finish J. Rotherham’s were superb. Great customer service and instructions. Timings were within expectations. The templating service was very professional and problem free. The quality of the fitting of our quartz worktop was spot on and the finish superb. Overall delighted!

From the measuring for the worktop, to the fitting of it, I have had excellent communication from J. Rotherham. They have kept me updated and informed every step of the way. They were very prompt and they worked very cleanly and efficiently. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Great service, great product, and a perfect fit. I am very impressed and the worktops look great. The installers did a great job. Carrying almost a tonne of granite worktops into a newly fitted kitchen and fitting them within a millimetre of finished walls is impressive in itself. Very pleased.
Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance
British manufactured: most UK Fireplace retailers sell imported Chinese or European made products. This involves a significantly higher carbon footprint for the product, often with material travelling in both directions (from a quarry in Britain or Europe to China, to be cut and fabricated into the finished design, before being shipped back to the UK).
British limestones: we offer a comprehensive range of indigenous British limestones that conform to high levels of environmental protection during the quarrying process. A great example of this can be seen in our Portland quarry (pictured) where the stone is actually mined using sustainable methods from under the local cricket pitch.
Water recycling and rain water harvesting: our factory uses 1,000 litres of water every minute – that’s a lot! Using water is essential in making our products to the highest quality and to the best health and safety standards. We have therefore invested heavily into ensuring that our water systems are hugely efficient at recycling the water we use, which includes 3 state of the art recycling machines and rain water harvesting technology.
Waste stone aggregate: we ensure all our offcuts get used in a constructive capacity. If we can’t re-use the stone, then this goes to be crushed and turned into aggregate which is used on roads and farm tracks.
We take great pride in being a British manufacturer and we have become one of the largest privately owned employers in our region.
This enables us to contribute meaningfully to the local, regional and national community. Some examples of our recent work can be found here:
Like with many manufacturing industries, the stone industry faces its own challenges in meeting the demands, expectations and opportunities to improve the world we live in.
We take our position seriously as one of Europe’s largest stone masonry companies, to improve all aspects of the supply chain including the working environments of all those concerned. We put quality and welfare above price in our supply chain, and have produced our own Ethical Sourcing Code of Conduct
