J. Rotherham, is heading a charity walk event on Saturday 3rd of June in support of local charity 4Louis.The aim on the day is to complete an epic 26 mile walk from Wren Kitchen’s head office in Barton-Upon-Humber, to the J.Rotherham manufacturing Facility in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, East Yorkshire.
4Louis is a charity that offers support to grieving parents of stillbirth, neo-natal, infant and child loss; the cause is close to the hearts of J.Rotherham employees especially that of planning manager, Samantha Kaye, who first put forward the charity for J.Rotherham’s event. Sam will be amongst the walkers this Saturday including Managing Director, Matthew Rotherham and Production and Operations Director, Andy Wallis who has been in charge of organising the event.
On Wednesday January 8th 2014, after Sam had been rushed to hospital with abdomen pain, she and partner Liam Jackson were given the traumatic news that no parents would ever want to hear; they had lost their little boy, and he was to be delivered as a still born. They named him Kobi Ty Jackson.
Today 17 families will suffer the trauma of a stillbirth or neonatal death. 4Louis aim to offer support and comfort to families like Sam and Liam’s to capture those lasting precious memories of their baby.
“4Louis helped me through the most difficult time in my life; I really don’t know what I would have done without them” Samantha Kaye
So far, the event has raised over £4,000 of a £5,000 target via their JustGiving™ page which will remain open up to 2 weeks after the event. Donate to the J.Rotherham Charity Walk Page online at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jrotherham
