The Great Lion's Head is a magnificent fireplace that when created brought out the best in our skilled stonemasons. Originally designed for production on the latest CNC technology in Italy, this marble fireplace was eventually hand carved and finished by our team of stonemasons here in the UK. At the time, the technology couldn't cope with the intricacy of such a grand project so the whole fireplace was modelled in Oak prior to completion in Carrara White Marble, enabling the stonemasons, designers and our client to make fine adjustments to what would be the final design.
Now, six years on, technology has advanced dramatically, and much of this fireplaces manufacturing could be automated, but we still pride ourselves on the immense skill of our team of stonemasons and encourage hand carving and finishing wherever appropriate.
