This was commissioned in 1988 and was a 3 axis machine with 8 tool holders. In line with the companies policy of investment in technology whilst still retaining traditional hand skills, the first stone working robot in the country was commissioned at the beginning of 2008.
This is a seven axis machine with 48 tool stations and three working areas which can effectively allow continuous working if required. This technology coupled with our digital scanning device allows three dimensional work of the highest complexity to be carried out, thus leaving the skills of the mason/carver to concentrate on the finishing and fine detailing. This technology, coupled with the companies other CNC saws and polishers, enables a comprehensive range of products to be produced and with the ability to use traditional hand skills maintains the flexibility to produce work of the most individual nature.
